Unfortunately, illnesses can happen unexpectedly and rapidly. Jim Henson died in about 48 hrs due to pneumonia. Usually, pneumonia is treated as an out patient.
1918 flu was H1N1. The highest mortality rate for that flu was the 25-26 yr old cohort. And that’s because H1N1 leverages your immune system against you, the stronger it is the more likely you are to suffer a cytokine storm and suffocate.
