Time flies.
At that time, I worried about the longevity of the once-great company.
Sorry to see it go, but please don't blame the internet.
.
Many/most of these are closings of the Sears Auto Center, not the Sears store.
132 years. That’s quite an era.
JC Pennys seems to be doing okay. I see their TV ads, nonstop.
Sears? Not so much :(
board chairman submitted a formal bid today so we’ll see what happens - probably too late to stop any closures, tho
Its dead, Jim...
The CEO and chair and #1 stock holder wants it gone. He gets the real estate. Lampert or whatever.

Having a burger, fries, and a chocolate shake while spending the day Christmas shopping was the highlight of this young boy's year.
And I remember the downtown Woolworth's had quite a gun section.
read a article today on FR about the former college room mate of Mnuchin ,Eddie Lampert, who has been chairman of the board and made decisions that enriched himself and lost money for Sears. Anyone else see it?
Good Memories.
