If you care about the children, build the wall

The NY Times breathlessly fired off another misleading headline the other day:

8-Year-Old Migrant Child From Guatemala Dies in U.S. Custody

An 8-year-old boy from Guatemala died in United States custody early Christmas Day, the second death of a child in detention at the southwest border in less than three weeks, raising questions about the ability of federal agents running the crowded migrant border facilities to care for those who fall ill.

In "United State custody."

When a perpetrator is shot at the scene of a crime and expires either at the scene or in the hospital, it is not reported that "He died in the custody of the doctors" or "He died in the custody of the hospital."

No, it is written in such a way as to clearly assign fault to the US, just as was done previously.

The boy, who has not been named, died just after midnight on Tuesday at a hospital in Alamogordo, N.M., where he and his father had been taken after a Border Patrol agent saw what appeared to be signs of sickness, according to United States Customs and Border Protection. His death follows that of a 7-year-old girl from the same country while also in the custody of the Border Patrol.
Not knowing the details did not hamper the liberal media's attempts to blame the CBP:
Much about the circumstances of the boy’s death remains unknown. It is not clear whether his condition was attributable to the care he received in the facilities, the result of an arduous journey, or some combination of the two.
Let us be clear- the child was in the custody of his father and his father made some bad decisions:
The father of the Guatemalan child who died Christmas Eve denied further medical treatment from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents after the child vomited following an initial examination from doctors, a spokesman from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said on a call to reporters Wednesday.

Government officials provided further details, including the startling disclosure of the father’s behavior, regarding the timeline of the child’s deteriorating condition. According to officials, the 8-year-old boy, Felipe Gomez Alonzo, was given multiple medical examinations by doctors before being released with prescription medications.

Which is likely why, without being able to pin blame directly on the CBP and Trump, the liberal media has lost interest in the story.

The real story here is that the blame for the death of this child belongs exactly where the blame belongs for the death of the previous child.

With the parents.

They drag these children into terrible situations- into arid areas in which they do everything to avoid detection and capture. They violate the law and put their children in danger. This is possible because there is no wall, no solid structure to dissuade them from violating our borders.

".... raising questions about the ability of federal agents running the crowded migrant border facilities to care for those who fall ill....."

Why do people think the federal government's border patrol agents should be equipped take care of sick people who show up illegally?

This to me is the key point. I read some CNN host asked why the Trump administration let the child go after being treated before he died.

She was correctly chastised by someone on her program, saying the doctors in the hospital released him, not the federal government. But they couldn't help themselves trying to make it look like Trump did it.

The Left loves the federal government so much, that they just can't understand why they are inefficient at doing things they are not charged with doing.

If you look at a map of Central America you will notice the distance from Guatemala to Brownsville, TX is much shorter than Guatemala to NM, AZ or California. Also, if you go directly north to TX you do not have to cross the open desert. Yet, many of these “refugees” choose to cross the desert with children because they perceive they have a better chance to get across the open border in these places.

We can all remember the Western movies from the 1950’s, 1960’s & 1970’s. IF you go out into that desert you will likely die. Remember Clint in “The Good the Bad and the Ugly.” Blonde almost died out in the desert.

IF you choose to go out into the desert. You are taking your life and your children’s lives in danger. It is not the border patrols fault.

To clarify my comments in #1 above, it was a CBS anchor confronting a DHS official about releasing the kid after treatment.

Obviously, the media babe was trying her darndest to make the Trump administration responsible for the kid's unfortunate death.

If that is true, then Dems should tell illegals NOT to come because Trump will kill your children. Now that makes illegals responsible for their children’s health.

This is how little these peoples governments think of their own people. They see them only as human export capital to send back money. Money the corrupted elites in their countries keep for themselves.

Not assigning blame here, but...

When Allied soldiers liberated Nazi concentration camps during WWII, they saw the starving prisoners and shared their food with them. Who wouldn't?

Some overate and died.

Could these children, after days in the desert without food or water, have suffered a similar fate?

If so, I can't blame the BP or ICE for feeding them, just like I don't blame those Allied soldiers. If there's blame, it goes to the parents who put these kids at risk in the first place.

Yes! It’s for the children. Time to use that zinger against the left. Pay back is a bear.
