I think it’s 30% of your reported donation amount is all you can really expect to shave your taxable income total... which the lower your taxable income the less taxes you pay if you have already paid taxes upfront you might get some of that back. Or better yet (or not)... You don’t owe anything extra on top of what you all have already paid. I do not know who said it but it’s true... “The only two sure things in life is death and taxes.” Unless it was misunderstood and the person who made that quote was actually saying “death in Texas...” I can’t remember.
But seriously, My Hope is that at some point in time, and it probably won’t be in my lifetime, we can have some governmental fiscal responsibility rather than special interest, grossly frivolous grants, and other things that are associated with a fraud, waste and abuse. Wouldn’t that be a wonderful expectation to have fulfilled?
