Those guys are crazy over there in Russia. Their rule for winter driving appears to be to drive as fast and as recklessly as possible.
Luckily the metro system is beautiful and runs nicely.
Was watching similar the other day and realized, this is why they all have dashcams.
With as many dashcams as they have, I’m surprised there aren’t more side by side videos where you can see each driver’s dashcam in a wreck.
"If the other driver fails to yield the right of way, give it to him. (The right of way, that is!)
I think the Russians forgot to include that last part in their manual.
I know some Russians, good people.

Exactly. It’s for their legal and insurance systems, to show who did what - i.e. “the other guy”. That’s if the other guy doesn’t bribe whatever officials into taking his side, of course.
Seems like some pretty basic rules of the road.
1. I have the right of way at all times.
2. You get out of my way.
3. I will drive with my eyes closed if I want to.
4. Always drive twice as fast as safe and prudent.
5. Look before pulling out of a side street? Why bother?
Vodka makes snow warmer so safer to drive.
It’s dangerous to drive behind trucks. Or in front of trucks. Or beside trucks. Or on the same road as trucks! Or trucks in snow. Or trucks in intersections.
I could watch these videos for hours.
My other favorite is the “11 Foot 8” bridge videos,

They’ve had a busy month.

Must be like a destruction derby for the 3% percent of drivers who don’t imbibe the wod-ka.
Bookmark.
“Those crazy Russians must have a lot of auto body shops”
They do get their OEM parts for about 25% of what the US pays for the same parts.
The presence of large amounts of alcohol in the bloodstreams of the drivers is a significant factor.
There seems to be a lot of accidents in Russia because 90% of drivers there have dash cams, used to protect drivers from insurance scams and corrupt police officers. As such, there are a lot of videos of crashes in Russia.
Its obvious to all of us that the russians just dont give a shite.
I admit that I am addicted to these things. I never knew there was this whole subculture viewing thing “Russian Dash Cam Videos”, and just stumbled across them one day.
Unbelievable.
I worked with a Russian woman, and told her I had watched these insane videos...and I asked if it were as crazy over there as it seemed from the videos.
She did not blink or even miss a beat and simply said “Yes.” and then said evenly “I never drive when I go back there.”
The really weird thing is...not a single one of these surprises me. Every single one, you can see it coming...you know how it is going to happen long before it actually does.
Each crash seems nearly 100% predictable. Very odd.
There are a few where the car in front swerves to reveal a stalled car in the middle of the lane - that has happened to me TWICE in the last month (in the USA). Although I don’t tailgate so it gives you a little more time to react - but not much.
I get even more of a kick out of the nearby pedestrians. Car crash in the middle of the intersection, sends a car up onto the sidewalk. People leap out of the way and continue walking. Other’s don’t even turn their heads - they just keep walking!
