The really weird thing is...not a single one of these surprises me. Every single one, you can see it coming...you know how it is going to happen long before it actually does.

Each crash seems nearly 100% predictable. Very odd.

There are a few where the car in front swerves to reveal a stalled car in the middle of the lane - that has happened to me TWICE in the last month (in the USA). Although I don’t tailgate so it gives you a little more time to react - but not much.

I get even more of a kick out of the nearby pedestrians. Car crash in the middle of the intersection, sends a car up onto the sidewalk. People leap out of the way and continue walking. Other’s don’t even turn their heads - they just keep walking!

I can only think this fatalism is the result of 100 years of serfdom under communism preceeded by a couple of hundred years or so of serfdom under the Tzars.

I noticed that, too. Zero defensive driving. Most made no effort to avoid the collision.
