Hawley, Scott, Blackburn-The winning Formula

Posted on 11/25/2018 2:47:57 PM PST by DIRTYSECRET

1) They were our best candidates. 2) They stepped unto the plate. Braun(Ind.) and Cramer(ND) CONFIRMED their states are red-Kavanaugh vote didn't matter. Hietkamp/McKaskill/Donnely were true to themselves knowing they were going to lose. James(MI) and Vukmir never had a chance. Don't kid yourselves. Az.-disappointment. Same with Mt. Put up our BEST candidates and the rest will take care of itself. Need I say more?

No room here for an honest opinion? You folks are getting sensitive. No wonder we lost the house.

I hope James runs against Peters in 2020.

Well, it would be nice if some context were in the post.

I *think* you are referring to the recent election and candidates, but other than that I have NO idea what you are trying to say.

I believe James should run again. Trump running will help. Doesn’t mean it will be enough. Beto could do the same against Cornyn, an easier target. Set him up for 2024 just like the 2004 convention set up Hussein. It’s a chess match my friends.

Sure. Honest opinions are welcome. FR even has a special forum for honest opinions. It's called chat.

What is annoying is when someone comes on here with blanket statements that make it clear they don’t know what they’re talking about and then get huffy when challenged. For example, he makes it sound like Leah Vukmir was some 3rd rate candidate when she has been a WI state senator who was so strong the Dems didn’t even field a candidate in her last election and she way by 74% against a Libertarian. She’s also a pediatric nurse practitioner who has been outspoken on healthcare issues because she knows what the hell she’s talking about.

Wisconsin is a purple state and she nor Walker attracted the level of independent support Trump was able to get. There was a time on FR when discussions of the how and why of races like this was commonplace, and intelligent dialog occurred instead of this kind of throw-s#it-agains-the-wall-because-no-one-likes-my-Facebook-posts posting.

Leah Vukmir was a very viable candidate in an election year when more people voted for Democrats. Figuring that out is important, demeaning candiates with stupid one-liners is not.

While on paper I think Vukmir was a good candidate, I think she ran a poor campaign. Despite her background as a nurse, she let Baldwin paint her as a candidate who didn’t support any sort of healthcare for those with pre existing conditions and it stuck. In the meantime, Baldwin, who was very vulnerable over the VA drug overdose mess, Vukmir was unable to pin Baldwin’s embarrassing handling of the VA thing on her.

Also, I think that Kevin Nicholson primary hampered her ability to get after Baldwin earlier.

Vukmir was as good a candidate as Jeb-get my drift? Resume doesn’t count otherwise Obama would not have gone anywhere. Use your heads my friends.
