I explain why we shouldn't be celebrating the birthday of Mohammed, and why everyone could learn something from Robert Spencer's latest magisterial history of the Islamic empire and history of jihad.
bttt
IS THIS A BOOK, OR A A YOU TUBE LEC TURE??????
You don’t seem to be in a celebratory mood.
Who celebrates Mohammed’s birthday? Do they even know his birthday? (The figure given for the year of his birth is just a guess and probably wrong.)
I didn't mention it in my video, but Robert Spencer has actually written a book which posits that Mohammed, as we know him, might not even have existed.
I'm skeptical-and generally come down on the David Wood side of this debate-but he makes a compelling argument.

Check out my comment-under the name Gerard Perry-under the actual op-ed.
Thank the real God.
I thought you meant Mohammed had a BD of Nov 21.
Perish that it would be the very same day as my most beloved dogs’ death, today 23 years ago.
Missed it by one day is OK with me.

I didn’t have the time to watch the video, but I have followed Mr. Spencer for years [mainly on Jihadwatch.org] and so I can vouch for his journalistic excellence/political opinions - and, although he often goes over the top, he is usually pretty solid.
