Before the 2016 Presidential Election, and both before and after the inauguration, I wrote specifically about how important the midterm election would be, and the results if the President should lose even one House of Congress. That happened: the Republicans just lost the House of Representatives. Now that the Democrats control it, not one piece of legislation will pass that is on the Presidents agenda. In the supreme act of denial, the Republican party claims the Blue Wave was not successful; even the President declared a victory with the midterms.
Nothing could be further from the truth, on either count.
The Democrats intend to mount a non-stopping offensive against the President. First, they are going to demand that Mueller go on the attack again. They are already demanding the Presidents tax returns. On Thursday, 11-8-18, thousands of people marched in Times Square in New York City in protest of Jeff Sessions departure from the White House
although Sessions was the one who tendered a letter of resignation. The mob of protesters carried mass-produced No one is above the law placards and signs.

A very, very good article. Thanks for posting.
“twilights last gleaming” ALERT!
I question whether they can get the tax returns or 99% of the rest of the info theyve requested. The Fouth Amendment protects against unreasonable search and seizure. There is a requirement of probable cause. They havent reached it.
Stock the judiciary, eo to hell and back and consistently paint the Dems as obstructionist. See ya in 2 years...
A stoppage of legislation does little. The investigations will go nowhere as all congressional ones do. They can bitch and moan but it gives Trump the ability to run against Pelosi and the far left. This was nothing compared to what Obama and Clnton faced in their midterm and will not have much effect at all on the 2020 race. The republicans over performed polls in Ohio and Florida. And trumps approval in those states exceeded this years candidates. Trump is in fine shape. I do recognize the many risks ahead including a newly irrational voting base in several traditional red states that led to close races or crazies getting elected. Trump does need to adjust course to win back voters but there are two years to do it and a crazy House majority and left wing death battle in the Dem primaries between now and then.
It’s going to be a very, very ugly two years.
It is, but not in the way described in this article.
Yup! Gridlock in Congress? Yay!! Since when have conservatives sat around whining because Big Government won’t be able to pass legislation they think is Good For Us.
Sure, there won’t be money allocated to build the wall by the Democrat House. Unlike the past two years under Republican control, right? Maybe Trump can find options, if not, then 2020.
I never thought I’d read as many hand-wringing whiny diatribes from defaeatist FReepers as I have this week. Shallow thinking, self-pity, lack of vision, giving up...? Some people simply do not deserve President Trump
We know the fight against the left will always be uphill, but were the only group of Americans who will fight for the country. There is no other option left!
It'll be annoy, aggravating, and upsetting to us; however, 2020 is an ELECTION YEAR and those up for it will be busy running! And, of course, the Dems WILL overplay all of it. Which WILL turn off the moronic suburban females.
And in December 2020 the House will vote for President ...

This should be a clarion call to the remaining states that are led by conservative Executive and Legislative branches:
Get your voting laws in order with iron clad protections for the rights of citizens from voter registration all the way up through recount and vote protest procedures. If your state ever turns purple or blue, it can kiss valid elections goodbye.
NO early voting except for very limited conditions,
Photo id FOR everyone casting a ballot
Registration rolls purged after every election from all voter missing two consecutive general elections
Cross check registration applications against actual (and reasonable) addresses.
In-person voting only (even if Sheriff Deputies or the National Guard need to be mobilized on election day to get everyone to the polls or if you have to contract Uber, Lyft, or whoever)
General Election Day becomes a State Holiday
...
Good points, but realistically none of the “red” states will do this. Most couldn’t get it passed by nominally Republican legislatures anyway.
Yup. It’s been a whine fest for the past week.
I wouldn’t bet on that. Will there be anymore money for the wall NO. Funding for Military? NO Budget? NO..
Rush mentioned on his radio show today an interview he had with Sen. Lindsay Graham for an upcoming issue of “The Limbaugh Letter.”
Rush said that Graham believes a major fracture is going to occur in the democrat party between the old timers and the young up and coming socialists.
All depends on the left’s control of the media, which the author assumes they continue to do.
That is not at all clear.
President Trump is a new phenomena. He did much better than was expected by the Democrats, and less than was hoped for in the mid-terms by the Conservatives.
We have two years to educate the public. President Trump and the Senate can match the Democrats with their investigations. I suspect the President has more on them than they have on him.
Unfortunately, the House was not really controlled by Republicans. It was controlled by RINOs.
The wall is a casualty of this for sure. Senate wont allow cuts to military. Though. Theyll just pile on New Democrat spending to buy off the house. I didnt say this is good, but its not all bad. Id liked to have seen a smaller majority so we had a shot at flipping it back in 2020. It will be tough to do in a presidential election year barring major overreach like 2009.
I didn’t really think my post was whiny;. It was more matter of fact. Project much?
