I was in Georgia when NAFTA was being debated. A blonde 30-ish woman and I struck up a conversation at work. I found she was of like mind re: anti-NAFTA and other Democratic policies. Agreed with me right down the line.
Election night goes by and I asked her who she voted for and she said "Clinton". I asked here why in the name of God did she do that. Answer: "Oh, he's such a handsome man." I felt like banging my head against the wall.
I’m sure some women somewhere might vote on looks, just as some men do.
But, not once have I ever heard another woman even comment on the looks of a candidate.
Maybe, in talking about NAFTA, etc., that blonde told you what she thought you wanted to hear, but secretly she leaned Democrat.

I don't know which election you're talking about, but in 1992 NAFTA was Bush's baby, not Clinton's, so that's not as surprising as it might seem now.
