CNN Analyst Calls for Briefing Boycott After Jim Acosta’s WH Pass Revoked
Breitbart News ^ | 11-7-2018 | Joshua Caplan

CNN national security and legal analyst Susan Hennessey is calling on White House press corp members to boycott future briefings after Jim Acosta, the network’s chief White House correspondent, had his press credentials revoked Wednesday evening. The suspension comes after a heated confrontation earlier between President Donald Trump and Acosta during a news conference.

Reacting to reports of Acosta’s credentials being revoked, a furious Hennessey tweeted: “This is a disgraceful and unacceptable attack on a free and independent press. The rest of the White House Press Corp should stand with their colleague @Acosta and refused to participate in any briefing until this appalling decision is reversed.”

The sparring between the pair occurred after Acosta asked President Trump about the caravan of migrants heading from Latin America to the southern U.S. border. When Acosta attempted to pose a followup question, President Trump said, “That’s enough” and a White House aide unsuccessfully tried to remove the microphone from Acosta’s hand.

“Honestly, I think you should let me run the country, you run CNN, and if you did it well, your ratings would be much better. Okay, that’s enough,” the president told Acosta after a brief exchange regarding the caravan.

Acosta, still refusing to allow other reporters to pose questions, then asked the president for his thoughts on special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe. “I will tell you what, CNN should be ashamed of itself having you working for them–you are a rude, terrible person, you shouldn’t be working for CNN,” President Trump told the CNN reporter. “You’re a very rude person, the way you treat Sarah Huckabee is horrible, and the way you treat other people are horrible, you shouldn’t treat people that way.”

How refreshing would it be to open the floor to non-traditional press corps members who usually do not get a chance to ask questions.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

That would get rid of the propaganda mongering in the WH press corps.

Really, those who stand with CNN do not really need to attend WH press briefings simply because they fabricate most of their reportage anyway. This is separating fake news organizations from genuine news organizations.

So much winning!

I’ve read that many press corps members can’t stand Acosta, and would be happy to see him gone.

Let's see if other WH press corp would stand with Jim. If the whole WH press corp go along with this, Trump then could invite other news outlets to hold press briefings without this current corp. No Big Loss for Trump. And the rest of America.

Exactly. This, in microcosm, is the existential struggle for who is in charge, the duly elected President, or the Media?

The Media is not supposed to control the President or the White House press conference.

Accosta attempted to control the President. The President asserted his Constitutional authority.

There are plenty of alternate press people to take Accosta's place.

Do they mean that we’ll no longer see the President bombarded with the same stupid questions asked several different ways? I don’t see a downside.

“This is a disgraceful and unacceptable attack on a free and independent press>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

No it is not disgraceful. The limits of freedom of the press are being defined. Such freedom should not be abused, just as freedom of speech does not encompass yelling “fire” in a crowded theater when there is none.

If you fabricate news into propaganda, that’s not covered by “freedom of the press” any more.

And finally the propagandist leftist media is brought to heel, just as it should be, brought to heel to the factual news, to criticism of policy etc, but fabrication of fact and personally harassing the president....that’s no longer acceptable as a freedom of the press. Why should it be?

I’ve read that many press corps members can’t stand Acosta, and would be happy to see him gone.

Mark Levin said exactly that yesterday on his show.

I remember a year or so back, when the administration toyed with closing up the White House Press room, and moving the briefing room to another building, altogether. The media went bonkers.

Believe me - part of the media back when I was young - getting the White House assignment is the cream of the crop assignment. A prestigious status, to say the least.

So, Trump should just tell CNN’s “analyst” that the boycott is a “great idea”, in fact, a reverse boycott - until the media members calm down the hostility, the vitriol, and grow up, NO MORE BRIEFINGS.

Sarah will just pass out written briefings each day, via email, and be done with it.

Pull a “ju jitsu” move, and use their own weight against them!

I agree - what #winning it would be to just say “today’s information will be sent to your news station” and be done with it.
