In a CNN interview, family attorney of Cesar Sayoc says Sayoc is mentally ill and not intellectually equipped to carry out the package bomb conspiracy, and that there may be "others who helped prod or encouraged him to do this". Sayoc's longtime friend is a former CIA officer who describes himself as doing "post-retirement work in support of the U.S. Intelligence Community".

I don’t think he’s dead in a week. Nobody is going to listen to him if his credibility is shredded. They are just going to lock him up and throw away the key. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s dead in a few years though.

What evidence? The “we lie to FISA courts” FBI claims? Possession of a van with pro-Trump decals?
We actually have no evidence whatsoever in the public domain right now to tie Sayoc to the packages. The closest thing is that he lived not far from where they were allegedly mailed from - another item that we have no evidence for - but that also covers millions of other people as well.
We have heard nothing from him or his lawyer. He may claim he had nothing to do with this at all, and if so - on what evidence are we to convict? We have none, at this time, just the claims of known false-swearers.
I had a sick feeling that a mass shooting was inevitable so close to the election. I am offering no reason why but these events just happen at certain times.
