His quote actually was (paraphrasing) “if she proved to be Indian”. This test did not prove her to be Indian at all, just the opposite. Most Americans who have not benefitted from Affirmative Action have more Indian blood than she does.

Unfortunately, Trump has not pushed Congress to eliminate the CFPB. Once the Democrats have the White House again, the CFPB will return to driving the progressive agenda without any constraints or oversight from Congress.

Trump has had a LOT on his plate (like fighting off coup attempts & turning the economy around) ... perhaps in the next 6 years, he’ll do something more permanent about the CFPB. He just hasn’t had the Congressional support he needs .... McConnell is coming around & if by some miracle Jim Jordan ends up running the House, then I think there might be more definitive action.
Either way it is not an erotic thought for me - quite the contrary.

whether one is legally a native american (and in particular a cherokee, or a choctaw) actually has nothing to do with DNA/blood percentage, but everything to do with whether or not you have an ancestor who was on the Dawes Rolls, which was the official registration that the government did back in the early 1900s.
the truth is that IF your ancestor was on that (I think for the Cherokees it is your maternal ancestor, but I might be wrong about that), then you can get put on and you can “become” a Native American, as it were. People do this from time to time, and it is how the rules are set up, and whether you like how the rules are set up, or not, is immaterial. Them’s the rules.
I have probably 5 or 6 friends who have done the research, worked really hard, and then went through the whole process and enrolled in the tribe. It’s a good thing to do....IF you qualify, and research will reveal that. It’s really a question of objective fact.
But here’s the interesting part.
It is absolutely true that in the day that the Dawes Rolls were done, there were people who wanted on the Rolls because they were Indian, and wanted to be identified as Indian. There were also people who were not Indian, and wanted to be on the Rolls and some of them made it (and some that “thought” they were Indian didn’t make it because they weren’t, or because they couldn’t produce documentation or testimony), and then...most interestingly...there were some, perhaps many, who absolutely were Indian who refused to go on the rolls. Totally understandable. I think a lot of freepers would intuitively understand that sentiment, right?
So really...truly and literally....DNA is irrelevant, legally speaking. What matters is those rolls, at least for Cherokee and Choctaw.
One final point here....She is a fraud, she truly is. HOWEVER....it is also the case that EVERYONE in Oklahoma with any Oklahoma ancestry, can credibly claim what is likely true, which is that they “probably” have some “Indian blood” in the mix somewhere. I don’t think that is a bad thing for all Oklahomans to note. In fact, I think it is a good thing, because that history, that heritage is important.
But being an Oklahoman (and therefore having some Indian blood) DOES NOT make one an Indian. It just doesn’t. Being an Indian (at least a Cherokee or a Choctaw, the ones that I’m most familiar with), is mroe like registering to vote.
Are you qualified by the rules? If so...then you’re in. If not, then you are not.
DNA might be helpful in your personal research to determine whether “family lore” is accurate or not, but it is legally irrelevant.
(And you would think that Harvard Law School would know these basic legal facts.....or not, I guess).

A fascinating point....the Cherokees were slave owners, so when the Dawes Rolls were done, my memory is that descendants of those slaves who were emancipated but sort of stayed with Cherokees also counted as tribal members.
It’s fascinating really. And I think we have to be sympathetic for the people who worked on this system, not because it is perfect, but because they sort of did the best they could trying to deal with difficult problems. How do you treat emancipated slaves who closely identified with Indians, but had no “blood”? Well, they suffered alongside the Indians, etc., so you basically include them in the deal that was done. It makes sense, and is a prudent application of legitimate legal principles, within a difficult situation.
But again.....DNA is literally irrelevant.
Warren is truly a fraud. She wants to claim oppression and thought Indian was the way to go. She’s wrong. And her claims are truly an insult to the governance of the Cherokee nation.
Warren probably ordered a jug of firewater after that day.

The highlight is the terms of the bet.
The range of 6-10 generations, or 1/64-1/1,024 parts means that she may possibly (in the best case) be 1/64 but can only definitely claim to be 1/1,024. And neither meets any official minimum standard to establish her as an "Indian."
