The self-proclaimed Climate Prophets who claim they can predict climate years in advance are either deliberately lying or incredibly stupid. Weather related scientists don't know enough about the factors that control daily weather to make more than approximate predictions of short term weather. How can anyone believe weather scientists can accurately predict weather decades in advance?
If you look at a Weather Bureau forecast you will notice that if it predicts the possibility of rain the prediction will show the probability of rain as a percentage. The probability of rain might by 20% or maybe 60%. Meteorologists know rain can occur under various conditions. The percentage figure indicates how often it will rain when the conditions are like the conditions predicted for that day
The forecast page will show daily forecasts for a week. If you check the daily forecast you may notice that the daily forecast for a specific day may change as the week progresses. For example, on Saturday you start checking on the forecast for the next Friday and the notice the forecast temperature is 80 F with a 20% chance of rain. The next day the forecast might change to 75 F and a 30% chance of rain. On Tuesday the temperature forecast might change back to 80 F with no rain prediction. On Thursday the Friday temperature forecast might drop to 70 F with a 40% chance of rain.
Meteorologists' forecasts are more accurate than they were 50 years ago and we are far less likely to have to shovel three inches of "party cloudy" off the sidewalk. Forecasts still aren't perfect, but computers can help process the data. Programmers work to improve the accuracy of their models as more data is collected.
The computer programs the Climate Prophets use are of no value because they cannot be tested for accuracy against data.that won't exist for years.
Most people don't understand that scientists are the original Western Civilization con artists. Early "scientists" got money from wealthy nobles by claiming to be working on a way to convert lead into gold. Scientists know other scientists cannot be trusted. Science magazines adopted a peer review process to reduce fraud. Unfortunately. this process is no longer working.
Horace Freeland Judson in his book "The Great Betrayal", "sketches science as a fortress rising out of the mists, focused solely on defending and enriching itself. It might pretend to worship the Goddess Truth but inside, out of sight, it is the God Mammon who is lusted after."
The Climate Prophets pursue checkbook science. The person with the checkbook decides what "science" says. The Prophets can predict anything they want because they know by the time the future gets here people will have forgotten what the prediction was.
NO! Tell us about it.
Thanks!
I remember my world view in my teens and 20’s. I believed the older “adult experts” in the same way a child believes his parents. I also used to believe that company presidents (I didn’t know what a CEO was), doctors and other leaders simply had all the answers, almost in a godlike way.
In previous generations this is what caused women to switch from breast feeding to formula, creating a generation of people with serious allergies.
i.e. I understand why they believe it. But once they figure out that we all put our pants on one leg at a time, they usually mature in their thinking and don’t believe everything they are told.
Not true.
If these "models" were actually any good, they could be initialized to the conditions 100 years ago, and they could then generate a 100-year "forecast" which would match the historical record of the past century.
If they could do that, they would be screaming it from the rooftops.
The fact that they haven't done it means they can't do it and they're all frauds.
Horace Freeland Judson in his book "The Great Betrayal", "sketches science as a fortress rising out of the mists, focused solely on defending and enriching itself. It might pretend to worship the Goddess Truth but inside, out of sight, it is the God Mammon who is lusted after."
“This translate that even if 9 out out 10 persons dies or has an adverse reactions to the drugs, the company typically has a 5 yr lead time to maximize their profits before the bodies starts piling up and the victims and their lawyers comes knocking.”
That is truly ignorant. The FDA monitors adverse events, and any uptick in deaths or injuries from anything medtech leads to immediate action. Recalls, forced plant shutdowns, even arrests.
10% better does not mean that 9 out of 10 can have adverse reactions or die. Your statement is completely false.
Because they don’t know the Truth.
Saying we can’t predict long term trends because we can’t predict short term variance shows a real ignorance of science and statistics. Insurance companies would be out of business overnight if that were true.
The loudmouth climatologists (like Michael Mann) haven’t predicted anything climate wise that came true. However, real climatologists are doing quite a good job of long term forecasting. Many hang out at www.wattsupwiththat.com check it out.
See the link here https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=amazing+discoveries+walter+veith+2017 very very fascinating stuff he uncovered, but you may not sleep very well after watching these. I dont recall which video it was in.
it think it may be in this sub series https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDrscByKEUQ&index=11&list=PL95B1BB23B7A3C795 211 - The Secret Behind Secret Societies / Total Onslaught - Walter Veith

Ok so I stand corrected, and I breathe a big sigh of relief too! I got this info from multiple sources so yrs ago including a medical doctor.
Thanks for saying that.
There is a requirement that drugs and devices show benefit, but it has been fudged in the past, true enough. “Barely better” is the standards some companies use, and they play games with the data.
Often the objective is get a newly patented drug out there, with a marketing blitz. Get patients to say, “hey, I saw a tv ad...” and docs don’t want the headaches of fighting with a patient. So they prescribe the new, very expensive meds, knowing insurance carriers are on the hook for the costs.
It happens a lot, and it is bs. Turns out many pricey, addictive pain meds aren’t any better than aspirin and ibuprofin, for example.
They feel the need to be part of something transcendent to give their pathetic existence meaning.
There is an entire generation since Kindergarten who have been taught GW is a scientific fact.
And their parents learned it from their kids school work.
Critical thinking skills are no longer taught.
In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, not to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better. When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is...in some small way to become evil oneself. One's standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. I think if you examine political correctness, it has the same effect and is intended to. -- Theodore Dalrymple [Wiki attributes this to Anthony Daniels, TD is his nom de plume]
