No, his priorities are NOT straight. He is one of a hundred people in the nation being a US Senator. The job has ridiculously low time demands already. October is a well known busy time, with budget votes, this process, and a few weeks before an election. He knew damn good and well this was a crap time for her to schedule a wedding. He has a duty to perform one of the few things asked of him as a senator, and his little princess should take a back seat. Period.
If it’s that important, delay the wedding a day.
If a soldiers daughter had a wedding planned, and a his unit was called to immediately go do something for the nation, think he can just say “sorry, my princess has a wedding”?
This was a cowards move.
