The memo by Rachel Mitchell, the Arizona sex crimes prosecutor who interviewed Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s accuser, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, last Thursday on behalf of Senate Republicans, is absolutely devastating for Senate Democrats.
In her analysis, Mitchell — who was once named as the Sexual Assault Prosecutor of the Year by Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano, former President Barack Obama’s secretary of homeland security — not only argues that it’s hard to tell whether Dr. Ford’s allegations are true, she highlights major inconsistencies in her story that raise serious concerns.
Mitchell wrote, “Here is my bottom-line: A ‘he-said, she-said’ case is incredibly difficult to prove. But this case is even weaker than that.” She added, “I do not think that a reasonable prosecutor would bring this case based on the evidence before the Committee. Nor do I believe that this evidence is sufficient to satisfy the preponderance-of-evidence standard.”
This means that in Mitchell’s professional opinion as a 25-year veteran of sex crimes prosecutions, Dr. Ford’s allegation that Kavanaugh assaulted her while they were teenagers is so unbelievable that it fails to meet even the lowest thresholds to demonstrate culpability within our legal system because they just don’t make sense. Indeed, the gaps and inconsistencies in Dr. Ford’s testimony are shady, irreconcilable, and defy logic.

I’ve never treated it as credible because of which side was making the accusation. I simply do not trust the DNC. Not even to comment on the weather.

Ford’s accusation has all the features of a complete fabrication that has been carefully engineered to be totally untestable.
That is why she will not say who’s party it was, where it was, when it was, how she got there, or how she got home.
It appears that while the Democrat lawyers were removing any details of her story that could possibly be used to check her accusation, they also went to work deleting all of her social media content and, apparently, any criminal records she may have had. All this, right before the story is released.
It is very clearly a fabrication designed to be totally untestable.

I never believed or pretended that she was the least bit credible. Her appearance at the Senate and her over-the-top PERFORMANCE there confirmed it to me.
Blasey Ford's response to this is that the party was nothing special for Leyland, who was downstairs with PJ Smyth while CBF was being assaulted, and that's why Leyland doesn't remember it.
Except that that's not true. It was "special" for Leyland, because it was the party where her best friend skipped out and left her alone with 4 drunken high school boys.
Does CBF really expect people to believe that Leyland didn't notice ... that CBF didn't have to explain herself ... that CBF didn't have to apologize to Leyland for leaving her in the lurch ... that they didn't talk at all about what happened, and why CBF ran away ... that she was assaulted by drunken boys at a party and never even told her best friend about it?
