CNNs John King offered one of the sharpest bits of commentary on Thursday in the aftermath of Brett Kavanaughs fiery defense of his reputation. This was the day, King noted, that Kavanaugh went from being a Bush Republican to a Trump Republican. If theres any moment in time that captures the GOPs evolution from the partys last president to the current one, the cultural showdown over Kavanaughs Supreme Court nomination is it.
Kavanaugh, after all, is a card-carrying member of the Republican establishment. Hes a George W. Bush loyalist who served as the former presidents staff secretary after working for him during the 2000 Florida recount. Bush appointed him to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. His elite upbringing in the Washington suburbs is worlds away from Trumps blue-collar political base in the American heartland. ...

The longer-term takeaway is that after 2018, there will no longer be an anti-Trump rump of the Republican party. Jeff Flake will be out of the Senate, along with his Trump-bashing colleague Bob Corker. A sizable share of the remaining Republican pragmatists in the House will have either retired or lost reelection. Voters will be faced with a binary choice heading into 2020: Join the party of Trump or be part of the #Resistance.
Kavanaugh, as a past political hand, surely understood that dynamic. A judge who would be culturally out of place at a Trump rally turned to tribal partisanship to rally support for his defense. If he is confirmed by the Senate, it will be on a party-line vote (unless West Virginias Joe Manchin decides to support him). And the GOPs remaining Trump holdouts will have either made their peace with his presidency or defected to the Democrats.

Well, there's a new nugget.
Finally waking up to the reality that we are in a Civil war. We may not be shooting guns (At least not Republicans)but laws, media, bureaucracy, as well as civil disturbances are all weapons that the left is using. Anything that can be weaponized they are using to overthrow the United States.
May I ask a silly question? Everyone here is so sure kavanuagh will be confirmed...as of now, with flake a no, how can y’all be sure he has the votes? I see it as it stands now one rat has to vote yes, assuming the other two RINOS vote yes. Am I seeing it correctly did I miss something?
I’m fearing the worst now. When I saw Flake with Coons yesterday making jokes about the elevator, I knew he was a ‘no’, and most likely so it Collins and Murkowski.
And Demonicrats, or at least significant numbers of Demonicrat leaders, need to be tried, convicted, and publicly hanged.
Nobody’s sure if Kavanaugh is going to get confirmed or not. Based on his record and qualification, there is no reason not to confirm him.
It’s just that it will poke the bear one too many times if Kavanaugh ended up losing his confirmation (very rare occasion in history) probably also losing his current job as a federal judge, and/or Trump couldn’t get another judge to the SCOTUS.
It will effectively tell the Americans that elections have no meaning. The cold hard anger in the pit of our stomach now will be hard to contain.
And those politicians know this calculation.
And whats worse is wimpy Mitch McConnell WILL DO NOTHING in the way of payback if their three RINO NO votes on Kavanaugh ends up scuttling his confirmation! If Dingy Harry Reid was GOP Senate Leader these three wouldnt dare cross him with the shenanigans their pulling now and would be guaranteed YES votes!

He may have some leverage over Collins and Murkowski, but Flake is leaving anyway, so what can Mitch do to him?
while many women are as motivated as ever to vote Democratic after hearing Christine Blasey Fords compelling testimony.
It wasnt compelling and she didnt remember (in quotes because something that never happened cant be remembered) squat except she was sure it was Kavenaugh.
Agree he cant much to Flake at this point but if he does force Collins and Murkowski to vote YES on Kavanaugh that will give him the 50 votes he needs to ensure Kavanaughs confirmation provided Flake and a few endangered Red state DimRats dont also vote YES knowing hell be confirmed anyways, this not needing VP Pences tie breaking vote!
Mitch has Guaranteed Kavanaugh would get confirmed - it would be a major blow to his leadership and prestige if Mitch FAILED to get Kavanaugh confirmed providing some REAL damning evidence on Kavanaugh doesnt come out prior to the vote!!
“Im dying to see his written opinion when one of these College Kangaroo Court sex assault cases makes it to the SCOTUS. Hes gotten an up close and personal look at why Due Process matters.”
Ah, but I’ll bet Dems will demand he recuse himself from any such case at this point.
This is what I’ve always found so infuriating about Bush Republicans. They go to great pains to try to separate them selves from those bigoted troglodyte Tea Partiers and Trumpers, when it should be perfectly obvious that the Left/MSM/Dems will never make any such distinction in any way that matters.

Feinstein petitioning the ABA is off the charts and for that alone she should be censored, but, we need to look closer at Ashoo, who Ford testified was charged with delivering her letter to Feinstein. (a letter than read like someone with a second-language wrote it). People who skim under the radar are usually skimming for a reason.
