To me, the article was sickening in that Coons' prejudicial comments indicated that without question Judge Kavanaugh's disposition is what Blasey-Ford claimed it to be, and capitalized on this theme of Coons' instrumentality in converting Sen. Flake's stance.
Coons was also given front page status again the next day, repeating and justifying his determination to delay and if possible negate the appointment of Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. The News Journal gave no space to any balancing defense for the Judge.
On the other hand, one notices the lack of any comments on this issue from incumbent Sen. Tom Carper (D) that might negatively affect his own campaign for reelection this November.
The Gannett/News Journal seems to me to be culpable of generally abandoning journalistic impartiality, as seen in this anti-Kavanaugh instance of using it in an over-the-top enhancement of a local socialistic liberal's reputation.
Coons and Flake were at some ‘Global citizen conference’ yesterday. Kasich is going up somewhere around there to talk about the future of the Republican party this coming week.
I think we’re seeing the discussion of a breakaway party for both sides.
