If you are from Houston you may remember in 1993, when 2 young girls, Jennifer Ertman and Elizabeth Pena, ages 14 & 16, were walking home one evening and were abducted, brutally raped and murdered by the members of a gang. The men were caught and tried, found guilty and all except 2 who were juveniles were sentenced to death. One of the men had lived here illegally most of his life. A few years later the United Nations World Court with 60 countries siding with them said Texas violated that man’s rights by not informing him of his right to contact his consulate. Pres. George Bush and Secretary Condi Rice ordered Texas to release him to keep peace with the U.N. The parents of those girls were shocked and devastated that this man would go free. Greg Abbott was the state attorney general at the time. One of his junior attorneys went to argue before the Supreme Court not to allow this murderer to go free. The Texas attorney argued that the Constitution clearly states that the United States is a sovereign nation and no other nation has jurisdiction over our laws. All 60 countries were there arguing against this one attorney from Texas. He won the case, and Texas executed the offender in 2005. That junior attorney was Ted Cruz.

I can see him on the Supreme Court. Too much question on his birthright and as a President, there should NEVER be any question about birthright. As Supreme Court Justice, however, I believe he would do America proud.

A WRONG “precedence” does not make it Constitutional. It amazes me how many FReepers think the Constitution can be changed by somebody transgressing it’s rules. The ONLY way to change the Constitution is clearly stipulated in the Constitution and must be adhered to. Somebody getting away wih a lie once does not make it the law of the land.
He IS a great senator. He will be a great president after Trump finishes his two terms.
The US constitution does not say both parents must be born on US soil. It simply says natural born citizen, which is then subject to interpretation. Someone like Obama who was born on US soil (based on his Hawaii BC) was interpreted by the authorities as natural born.
Since Obama’s parents were not both US citizens at the time of his birth, the precedence has been set. Like it or not. I do not like it and you do not like it. Our disliking does not make it a law. In US courts a big deal is made about precedence. Unless a future SCOTUS explicitly defines natural born citizen, Cruz is eligible if he was born on US soil and if one of his parents was a US citizen.
Cruz was born in Canada and lived there until he was 5.
He held Canadian citizenship until 2014.
You are right, I forgot about that! So therefore he is not even the same class as Barack Hussein Obama. Because Obama has a Hawaii BC.
But Cruz ran for president, and was among 3 finalists, and the media never questioned his eligibility. Go figure!
Cruz was born in CANADA. Why do you think he had Canadian citizenship even while sitting as a US Senator. He renounced his Canadian citizenship when he ran for president.
You speak of precedent. What about the Supreme Court decisions which have found that you must be born here of two citizen parents? That supports the Constitution. You ignore that very profound FACT! To go further. The term Natural Born Citizen is defined in Vattel’s The Law of Nations which was studied and implemented by the Framers in creating our Constitution.
Do some research. Cruz is NOT eligible and the Constitution must be supported, not destroyed if we are to preserve America. The destruction of this country under Obama must not be continued and I hope the entire plot which produced Obama is ultimately revealed.
