Michael Avenatti denied the claim that he was pranked by a 4Chan user who claimed to have tricked the lawyer into believing that his girlfriend was the latest women with allegations against Supreme Court Nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
Avenatti has claimed to be representing a woman who knew Kavanaugh in high school and accused him of setting up girls to be raped.
“When the American people hear from her, they will determine, as I have, that she is to be believed,” Avenatti said during a press conference Monday evening.
Rumors began swirling Tuesday afternoon that the Lawyer may have been pranked when a post on the anonymous forum board 4Chan made it rounds on Twitter. The author of the post claimed that he had contacted Avenatti with a “burner” phone and got his girlfriend to convince the lawyer that she had dirt on Kavanaugh.
