Leland might have been contacting by WaPo early on. Remember, they had the story and refused to run it early on.

The WaPo had two motives to intentionally misreport the story, turning one boy into a girl.
1. The optics of four boys and one girl at a party is very bad for the girl, especially if she's going to make a claim of sexual assault. They needed to balance the attendance to three boys and two girls to make it "dates" and a friend.2. The boy who was turned into a girl has to be the teen who lives at the house. He likely invited three friends over, and one of them brought a girl he just met. The girl that the WaPo placed at the party denies being at a party with Kavanaugh. She wasn't there because the WaPo replaced the boy resident with a girl who knew Ford.
It seems credible to me that the WaPo is covering up the one piece of information that would unravel this whole plot, namely the person who lived at the house. Naming that person puts a location to the event, which then opens up the rest to specific questions.
The WaPo turned the boy into a girl to protect the scheme against Kavanaugh from unraveling with the only investigable fact. When all the named people say they weren't there, all are claiming that it wasn't their house.
So whose house was it?

Taking that a step further, why didn't she call her old friend to at least confirm the friend remembered the 36 year old incident before writing the letter to avoid looking like a political vindictive fool?

My question, which I have not seen asked, is say this accounts for all the folks at the party, whose bloody house were they at? One would assume one of the partyers lived there and that it wasn’t a random home they came across.
If it was a party with 50 kids, I can see not knowing who was throwing the party maybe, but 4-5 kids, someone had to set things up.

I was thinking about this last night, and her friend would’ve remembered if Ford suddenly disappeared during a party. She definitely would’ve called Ford the next day to find out why she had left the party.
