Alibaba Chairman Jack Ma said the company can no longer meet its promise to create 1 million jobs in the United States due to trade tensions between Washington and Beijing, China's Xinhua news agency reported Wednesday.
Ma has already warned that the trade war between the world's two largest economies could last decades and that China should focus exports on the "Silk Road" trade route, citing Africa, Southeast Asia and Europe.
Ma met President Donald Trump two years ago and laid out the Chinese e-commerce giant's plan to bring one million small U.S. businesses onto its platform to sell to Chinese consumers over the next five years....

Your point is absolutely correct...the Chinese government will wake up one day and consume Ma in one swift arrest...taking his money...and he’ll be stuck away in some prison for the rest of his life. If I were him....I’d move a hundred-million out of the country...buy a sailboat and just disappear into the Caribbean.

So Ma is going to block them? And his "plan" to create one million jobs means that he was going to bring these small businesses on and each one would add one job to handle the volume?
Sounds like Ma was talking out of his rear.

Jack Ma suffers from the same disease that affects many of them. Warren Buffet, Mark Cuban, Steve Jobs, etc.
They believe they cannot be wrong so they believe their own nonsense. Cuban is one of the worst offenders, IMHO.
those jobs never existed. this company is a on line importer exporter any jobs this company creates would take more jobs away from the united states. and eat into the American company Amazon to create the jobs.
It is not Donald J. Trumps trade war. It is China’s unfair trade practice being confronted.

Personal experience from being retired in Southeast Asia.....After Alibaba took control of a regional online marketer called Lazada their website turned to predominately PRC companies selling cheap Chinese cr#p instead of name brand products imported and sold by local merchants online. After one sad experience and the trouble of wading through all the PRC junk I wouldn't shop there again.
Place 100% tariff on anything coming via his companies.
