I compared the original to the Melania version and was surprised how much larger I had made Melania’s head and the neck I also needed change due to the original’s side and drawn slightly back angle.
Fortunately, the background of the head is fuzzy hair and sky I could made changes to make it more anatomically correct. So what you see now should be better.
I live near the University of Georgia and senior citizens of Georgia are allowed to attend classes for free in Georgia public universities. So I’m thinking of taking a course in painting so I can get some of this good training.
Parrish is all about reflection, color of light and shadow.
IMO, a 3/4 profile of Melania with the attending reflected golden light accentuating shadows would be a better choice.
Her face is too “flat” and lacks the drama of the wistful 3/4 profile.
Parrish was a master of the third dimension.
Give that a try, instead.
