“Hunger Stones” Emerge in Drought-Parched Europe With Etched Warnings of Impending Famine

More than a dozen hunger stones have been found in the Elbe River. The stones recorded low water levels dating back to the 1600s and warn of impending hardships.
Due to scorching temperatures, the water in the Czech river has dropped, revealing boulders that were once used to record low water levels.
The rocks are etched with dates going back to the 1600s the Maunder Minimum.
In centuries gone by, if you saw carved rocks emerge from the Elbe River you had a very tough time ahead of you.
They have reappeared once again this summer.

Was there a famine in 1921?
Was there global warming in 1616?

Guess its happened in the past long before the industrial era and “man made climate change”.

I see the water was lower in 1921 than in 1616.

This is a fascinating story and picture.
The carvings on the rock of the dates are pretty well done but the best one is 1921. It’s nearly perfect.

The rocks are etched with dates going back to the 1600s the Maunder Minimum. And that would be during the mini ice age 1350 to 1750

"A German inscription on the same rock reads, When you see me, weep.
A later Czech message says, Dont cry, girl, dont fret. When its dry, just spray your field wet.
Boom!

The bad news is...the rocks were higher earlier in history, but have sunk lower in the river as the flowing water washed the river bed out from under the rocks. The markings are now probably a few feet lower than they are previously.
We’re all gonna die...

1616 was part of the last mini ice age
1921 May have had starvation due to end of WWI and swine flu epidemic that decimated Europe

Good. My apartment is heated by gas and gas is included in the rent.
Colder longer means less electricity spent on the swamp cooler.

It would be a concern if all things were equal. A lot has changed in the way of food production in the past 400 years.

There was global warming in the past, as there is now. In neither case is there sufficient scientific evidence to conclude it was or is man caused.
