Trump still pretends he is powerless over the Department of Justice
Washington Examiner ^ | August 24, 2018 | Philip Wegmann

Donald Trump has occupied the White House for a grand total of 580 days. Apparently the president hasn’t discovered all the features and perks that come with the Oval Office. Take his tweets.

Early Friday morning the leader of the free world publicly shamed Jeff Sessions, asking his attorney general to open up the files of the Department of Justice so the public could peek at documents concerning everything from the Russia dossier to FISA applications. It would be quite the haul. It would dominate news cycles for months to come. It could happen tomorrow.

Trump has the power. As head of the executive branch, he can tell the Justice Department to jump and, in most cases, they are supposed to ask how high. The current leader of the free world prefers to pretend he doesn’t have the authority, however. Ever the victim, Trump would rather tweet than give orders that might require some painful political follow-through.

Finally someone besides me is calling out that he has the power but for some reason fails to execute it.

Make them do their jobs. If he has to embarrass them so be it.

But he won’t. And that’s the problem.

In due time the charade will be exposed. Sessions is working behind the scenes and to enlist on the record support for sessions from the dems and never trumppers this has been the process has been followed. Trump has been dragged through ringer and soon the tables will be turned and no one will be able to complain he was given special treatment.

Wishful thinking. How so? Be specific.

It makes no sense unless there is some earth shattering counter attack in the wings.

Trump has enemies. One of them passed away tonight but others still live and are up to no good.

I hope the ones at the DOJ are dealt with as in removed from their jobs.

When Trump has been dissatisfied with any cabinet member he has fired him. Sometimes impulsively nevertheless emphatically, particularly if he is embarrassed. sessions has crossed the line repeatedly with no repercussion from Trump whatsoever. Just connect the lawss(s) the government claims cohen broke were not at all applicable, Flynn has not been sentenced, Papadoc has withdrawn his plea. All incongruent with normal behavior.

Something is being proven in front of our eyes, and it will be a slow and painful process. Lawyers and other judicial people can terrorize and ruin anyone, even a president who works against their efforts.

Trump is not pretending anything. Anything that he actually does right now will be twisted and used against him. If he can entice someone else to do it or someone to resign then he can put that burden on them.

When the witch hunt is done and trump emerges unscathed, then the DOJ better hold on to their butts.

Timing... unlike Hannity, Trump is not announcing “TICK-TOCK.”

Methinks Trumpinator will release unredacted documents at the right time for the greatest impact, before the mid-term elections. 🤞

Trump’s obsession with loyalty works both ways. Those who have betrayed him may eventually be the victims of Trump revenge. I hope he’s keeping vendetta list. 🤞

“Finally someone besides me is calling out that he has the power but for some reason fails to execute it.”

**********************************

The following is just my opinion and I have no proof, but here it is.

Yep. Trump has the power and he knows it. He’s had the power and has known it all along. He’s gaming the deep state.

I look at what’s been going on and I see:

1. Time bought to clean out the scumbags from the midlevel and various subdepartment leadership of FBI, Justice, etc. The stay behinds that would make dang sure that any attempts to use the court of law to prosecute any deep state higher ups would be sabotaged.

2. Lots of precedents being set by the “investigation” that can, and will, be used to hammer the deep state players once the shoe is on the other foot. The “gotchas” by the “investigation” have all fizzled to nothing so far. I can’t help but see it as Trump setting the bad actors up to be hoisted and destroyed on their own petards.

To back up that feeling, I look back to when the Trump Admin was in “utter chaos” during the early part of his presidency. The leaks. Then the leaks leaking different details on the same issue to different outlets and msm talking heads.

Now, no more leaks. And, the msm has zero credibility.

The deep state didn’t take over in a day. It’ll take some time to dig them out.

Why would someone who is fearless against the deep state and the media be worried about something being twisted?

All he is doing is opening a wider hole for abuse from his successors, including democrats.
