What the President should do, IMHO, is to sigh an EO stating that once you leave the position for which the clearance was issued, you by default, no longer have a need to know.

That’s already the LAW. These morons shouldn’t have a clearance by the time they are escorted out the door. It’s the Agencies they are leaving that are at fault for this stupid story.
That would solve the problem on both sides. There is a very bad appearance of ethical conflicts of interest when government employees slide in and out of contractor jobs making millions off access their to secrets.
When anyone else changes jobs, they no longer get access to their previous jobs information. Why should government be different?
