I agree with the article, with a reservation.
What about a person who has a terminal cancer, has sought out every viable treatment with zero hope for the situation to improve and will die within a few weeks with or without treatment?
To be absolutely clear, the government should never be involved in a decision as to when treatment should end.
I think there is a significant difference between actively causing your death, and stopping the use of extraordinary measures to keep you alive.
The question I have is it up to the patient or the person/entity paying for the treatment to decide when to stop the use of extraordinary measures?
