CMMG has just announced more new line of AR pistols and short-barreled rifles chambered in FN 5.7x28mm and people are going ape s^&t over this.
CMMG utilized their patent-pending "Radial Delayed Blowback" operating system, the brand new Mk57 Guard line is fed by 5.7x28mm pistol magazines. These models are available in the 5-inch-barreled, as well as 8-inch-barreled PSB configurations.
The Mk57 Guard Series is a ultra-compact and lightweight platform is extremely portable, making it an awesome package for close protection, home defense, plinking and competition shooting. A very agile AR platform.
It features a relatively lightweight bullet design and some super-impressive velocities. This is paired with the patented Radial Delayed Blowback system.
This combination makes the Mk57 one of the lightest-recoiling pistol-caliber carbines on the market, CMMG CEO Chris Reinkemeyer said.
With each round fired, a portion of the rearward force of the shot is exhausted in unlocking a rotating bolt in the system prior to driving the carrier forward and cycling the action. See the video footage of the CMMG MK57 here.
Now yer talking. Just the thing to have when the Antifa mob is coming at you.
Oo-oo-oo!
Golly gee whiz, that look like a space gun.
Another mystic breech locking system like the Blish lock used in the early Thompson Submachine guns? That was shown to be hogwash with the introduction of the WWII M1 submachine gun that was essentially identical to the Model 1928 except the M1 incorporated a solid bolt of the same size as the complex 1928 bolt. The M1 operated as a simple blow back design.
It's a .22 Magnum!! Hehehe.
Can't resist. d;^)
Nice gun. However, it is way too pricy. They need to get the price down to under $1,000.
H&K use a delayed blowback system too.
It’s an interesting round. It’s on the lottery fantasy list...but not the short list. I would love to see this same model in 9x23.
These rounds serve different purposes. The .223 is really a rifle round and suffers when put in a short barreled weapon with quite a bit of muzzle blast. It has more recoil and energy. The fn 5.7 was originally designed as a round for crew served weapons such as the p90 a submachine gun. It has really light recoil and is quite useful but less powerful. The 5.7 can make a neat pistol round with high capacity and very little recoil.
I am NOT one of the everyone who is going apeshit over this.
Just sayin.
It’s today’s iteration of a certain kind of clickbait from some marginally literate blogpimps, and nothing more.
“Crew served submachine gun”?
Say what?
I’m guessing he meant to say “personal defense weapon for soldiers on crew-served weapons”.
Theirs is real.
You need to get Gun Jesus (Ian of Forgotten Weapons) to take this thing apart, for all to see.
Then he can pronounce on its reality.
Hey. Guns are getting bigger. Just ask Maxine Waters.
That means there will be one more of 'em, for me. :)
That Video is like “Reno911”
With a Grenade!
