Has anyone ever called the Chinese 'stupid'? Not those guys.
So now they're reading President Trump, and unlike the childish Eurotrash of western Europe, they see a shrewd, wily, chess-playing, Sun Tzu-grade genius, who could easily checkmate them, and they've got a lot of reasons for thinking so.
That's the report from a European policy-domo, who actually went to Beijing and asked the local leaders what they were seeing. The report that European Council of Foreign Relations President Mark Leonard gives, in the Financial Times, is well worth the subscription or trial subscription to read it. Some of his thoughts from the piece c

Some might actually think this way about President Trump.
Others may just presume he likes to hear lavish compliments.
This may lead to better negotiation for us, they’re saying.
Entire piece is worth reading. China is one of those places where people sit and analyze things to the ninth-degree to understand the full dynamic. And in this case...they have a different view on Trump’s vision (probably more respectful than even Trump-voters in 2016).
Did anyone else see Steve Hilton’s show Revolution on Fox News yesterday. It was about China and deep state corruption. Well worth the watch but it may make you sick.
These brilliant insights on the part Chinese are no more or less than what Trump has been telling anyone who listens. For too long, our leadership has been selling us short and selling us out. Other nations have been taking advantage of it (no hard feelings), and he plans to put an end to it. And the whole world benefits when America thrives. Not scary, and not really that complicated.

The praise is way overdone. Trump’s only doing the obvious - something that the bulk of GOP voters know in their gut. The problem is - the obvious isn’t obvious to the morons manning GOP think tanks. Weak countries build coalitions. Strong countries are coalitions of one, with occasional alliances of convenience. Our elites in DC have hamstrung American power and leverage while selling this to Americans as essential for our national prosperity and security. It’s always been a load of hooey.
Ha, Chinese government has kept urging people not to be fooled by Western media’s bias.
It works very well. At least mainland Chinese reject to buy BBC, CNN, AP’s anti-Trump propaganda.

I’ve known and worked with hundreds of Genius level folks. I agree with China’s assessment.
Send it to the Rhinos and the rest of the intransigent, unaccommodating pervs in Congress.
I am here in China. I can’t read the minds of the leadership, but the factory bosses and most college educated Chinese think that President Trump is a super genius / sly fox who has studied Sun Tsu.
They admire him.
Though they are really perplexed as to why CNN portrays him so negatively. In their mind, if what CNN is reporting is correct, than Trump is a super-dangerous man to be able to get away with so much.
Very interesting...
They’re still testing the ‘stable’ bit.
Its the “face/spine” dynamic, the world sees the “face” but they fail to see the “spine”, which is the true direction. Its interesting to watch.
You mean they’re actually intelligent and not so self-absorbed that they can see past their own noses?
I wonder if the cnn type nonsense actually helps Trump, by keeping the Chinese and other couterparties guessing about him. He seems to like keeping people off balance for negotiations.
