On July 24 2018, the National Archives released files from the Prime Ministers Office and Cabinet Office predominantly covering the year of 1993. A Lockerbie file dated 1992-93 has been withheld, as well as four files relating to the Scott arms-to-Iraq inquiry. I always thought it made more sense for Lockerbie being retaliation for our shooting down the Iranian passenger plane.
There have always been rumours to that effect. In this article, they put forward evidence of a Damascus link, which of course can lead straight to Iran. The whole story is thick with spies and intriguing.
