Five weeks on vacation. Is there a company in America that gives their employees five continuous weeks off, paid? This is on our dime for the simple reason to garner support and get reelected.
They will work harder on this “vacation” than they do in DC.
And that’s just their summer break. There’s Christmas break, Spring break, and no telling how many others. And then a cushy retirement awaiting. Quite a racket.
“Congressthing” should be a part-time job, with a salary to match ... such that they have to do real work half the year (or more) in order to make ends meet.
And do not forget lifetime pensions and health insurance.

Im also inclined to think that were seeing a midterm election year dog-and-pony show by a Trump-hating Congress left over from the lawless Obama Administration.
Or has Congress found the funding for Pres. Trumps wall?
I get 24 days a year (approx. 5 weeks) and managed to use it too.
But, I have been working for my government agency now for 25 years, have a year and a half of sick leave saved up, and feel I have earned that.
On the other hand, they recently cut the leave we could save to 192 hours (approx 24 days). Many folks had 6 or 7 weeks saved. They are finally taking some.
