Today is the universal Commemoriation of St. Mary Magdalene the Myrrh-Bearer and Equal to the Apostles. The Commemoration of her whom Augustine called the "Apostle to the Apostles" appears on the sanctoral calendars of Anglican, Catholic, Lutheran, and Orthodox Churches alike.

She is an appropriate lens for viewing the transforming power of Christ in being saved by grace.
