Kim Jong Un put potatoes ahead of Mike Pompeo during a US visit to agree denuclearisation details, state media has suggested.
The US secretary of state visited Pyongyang on Friday and Saturday in an attempt to agree details of a deal made during June's historic summit between Donald Trump and the North Korean dictator.
However Mr Kim has not been seen in public for seven days, with every official move usually documented by news agency KCNA.
During Mr Pompeo's trip relations between the US and North Korea appeared to take a dive as Pyongyang accused the US of a "gangster-like mindset" during the high-level negotiations...

Maybe he came back here with Pompeo. joking obviously, but I’m starting to think Kim has more problems with his own Generals than he does with us.
I think Trump had to try the diplomatic route. If Trump is forced to bring military force to bear his critics on the Left would hammer him for not giving diplomacy a chance. Now that he has done that, he has shown the world that he reached out in an effort to bring a peaceful solution to the problem. Now, having been deceived and rebuffed, Trump is justified in lowering the boom on the Norks if they start trying to intimidate us again. I think he handled the situation well.
“...state media has suggested.”
Right there is a reason to wait until the real story comes along. Was Pompeo supposed to meet with Kim or with his counterpart? Now that Kim has been upgraded to meeting with heads of state, would he go back to meeting with a mere secretary of state?
Pompeo’s qualifications for his current role is that he is a Trump loyalist and shares the same worldview as Trump - which are very important qualifications but those don’t make him a diplomat. This is not a knock on Pompeo. Trump has an innate talent to persuade and influence people. If Pompeo were president or anyone else for that matter, there would have been exactly zero chance of the US/NK summit happening or any goodwill coming out of it.
On a slightly different topic I think Trump is right that China is now trying to sabotage this.
More tariffs on China - president Trump is dealing with both problems at the same time in a fairly straight forward manner. Slap China until North Korea gets rid of its nukes.
If this situation devolves to military action, the left will characterize it as a failure of Trump diplomacy rather than Nork intransigence and belligerence.
Mike Pompeo shouln’t sleep in that country unless he has armed US armed guards taping him sleeping... I would not trust the North Koreans...
Issue was, is and always will be based on the key premise, that one can have true denuclearization without regime change, ie without the death or removal of Kim and the toppling of Workers Party rule in the DPRK.
I say NO.
We are wasting many critical weeks and months in my estimate dicking around on this folly and journey of shameless naive self-aggrandizement. Underground NK work continues, to hit us in the heartland with nukes or EMP burst, all the while a smiling offensive from Pyongyang in league with Moon and Xi. Best to end it yesterday.
Correct! In a sense you are right on the mark.
One of the NORK generals at the meeting asked Pompeo if he slept well. Deadpan he responded perfectly. How are you sleeping?
Yeah, that kind of popped out of the article, didn't it?
Well, you can lead a horse to water, but you can never go home again.
yes. And just as Kim invented the hamburger(’’double bread sandwich with meat’’) he magically made potatoes appear one day.
State media? Do they mean the BBC?
