This is just wrong on so many levels.

It is NOT necessarily about "lying", rather an intent to deceive or withhold.

I referenced the National Acadamy of Sciences report. You can read their views on this subject. One thing that a polygraph certainly doesn't measure is the subject's "intent."

Interesting news but not surprising. FBI HQ is corrupt from top to bottom. The swamp is in full gaseous methane belching mode.

The damning part of this whole story is that the FBI still uses this junk science on its own agents.

Even worse, being a polygrapher is a "profession" with its own lobbying associations, the American Polygraphy Association and National Association of Polygraphers.

So you can flunk the test and still be hired by the FBI?

Or flunk and still be given clearance?

I am pretty sure they are used for personnel decisions all the time.

Not all TS/SCI involves poly. If you fail the poly, you just can’t work poly gigs.

Simply not true. Having the TS/SCI clearance requires periodic polys. If you fail and fail the retake you are debriefed. There are additional polys required for some specific compartmented projects.

What do you suppose the “intent” of Strzok’s tweets against President Trump were?

Having the TS/SCI clearance requires periodic polys.

Nonsense. I've never taken a polygraph test in my entire life!

You are obviously confusing my views of the stupid fake science sorcery of polygraphy with my views of Strzok.

The man is a traitor and should be treated accordingly. Not because of a jiggle on a dial but because of what he said, wrote and did.

And we have a pretty good understanding of Strzok’s intent because he told us what he intended, and not, again, because of the jiggle on a dial [or strip chart or whatever].

Not sure how good they are but they are used for a lot of folks in sensitive areas...”regular” TS/SCI doesn’t require one but when one gets into positions where the data becomes more critical require polygraphs.....in my years as a Security manager, I never heard of a specific individual failing one and being denied the position but have heard from a couple that they caused some “spikes” which resulted in additional interview time to try to determine if there was a real issue - who knows if they serve their purpose....some folks can beat them w/o problem and other give false positives...perhaps the majority can be fairly well vetted but nothing is perfect and individuals can make the decisions......

“TS/SCI doesn’t require one but when one”

While in a TS career, DH would be polygraphed at random times. Maybe it was done in conjunction with a specific program he was working on at the time; I’m not sure. I can’t remember.

“how reliable are those things?”

I’d say, “Not very”. I watch a lot of true crime on TV and am surprized at how often total retard loser criminals pass polygraphs with flying colors. Sometimes it’s because they’re sociopaths - and that makes some sense. But often they’re just regular people who lie well, I guess.

I carried a TS/SCI for 26 years and was never polygraphed - certain programs require them.

Nope, there are gigs that don’t require poly with TS/SCI and I know several people in that regard. Living around DC I know folks w/every clearance under the sun and have had a few myself.
