I want England to beat Uruguay in the final.

Want France, Belgium and Brazil to all exit as soon as possible.

(I realize that the odds are against my wishes.)

So far, nothing has gone to plan, and we’re facing one of Croatia, Russia, England or Sweden making the final - something you’d scarcely believe three weeks ago.

My wife posted on a forum for panini world cup stickers, that my daughter has many doubles for trade. A family is driving now to do trades down at the bus stop. They want the Switzerland Team Glitter Card and will trade the England Team Glitter Card for it. Plus they will compare lists to see what else can be traded (my daughter spent time making a numbers list (each sticker has a number) of what she needs.

Two days ago our daughter got the Messi Sticker. :)
Then yesterday, my wife took her to register at a new school near us for third grade. They have soccer teams for boys and girls (separate teams). The boy’s coach was ... Oh. doorbell signal to go down. More later...

Belgium, Sweden, Croatia and Russia have never won the World Cup. Russia has no chance, but this tournament has opened up and any of the other three could sneak through. A first-time winner would be nice. If that fails, England and Uruguay haven’t won it since forever, and it would be nice especially to see Uruguay break through, sandwiched as it is between Brazil and Argentine, two soccer superpowers with attitudes.

Belgium is the best of the teams you listed there.

Belgium and England have been the best thus far.

Russia has no chance. Agreed.

The Russians better play with more skill in their upcoming match, to stay in the game.

Croatia vs Brazil in the final.

Would love to see the checkers take it all.

Brazil has looked the strongest, especially its defense. Belgium has the best offense, but can it stop Brazil?

France has looked the second best team. It should get by Uruguay without Cavani. It looks like a France versus Brazil semifinal.

Croatia should beat Russia, but the home team advantage could result in a surprise upset.

England should beat Sweden, but the English always find a way to lose the big one in heartbreaking fashion. Sweden has been tough on defense and strong mentally. The Swedes in an upset.

The semifinal will be Croatia versus Sweden.

Is Cavani still hurt?

Or will he play today? I haven't heard anything yet.
