LOL, one of the pains of doctor’s visits, are perusing old magazines.
My neighbor. They don’t believe in tv and think computers are evil so the only news they get is the local small town dozen paged weekly newspaper and TIME. I’ve tried and tried for years to get him to cancel his subscription. I told him this latest cover was faked. He told me a million subscribers proved he wasn’t as stupid as I think he is. He’s mad at me and I’m mad at him. Fine, keep his head in the sand and keep buying the propaganda. I give up. Done. Finished.
That late? I thought it was called for Reagan at 8:00 plus 1 second.
Wiki showing NBC called the race at 8:15. I remembered it being a quick call in light of what we see in current races.
My doctor. And he keeps copies around for a long time. An interesting aside, most issues with President Trump or a Trump caricature on the cover have a black or red background in order to emphasize their opinion of him as something diabolic. Even the 2016 Man of the Year cover, the infamous "devil horns" cover, had an ominous dark background.
A long time ago when I was in high school our English teacher included logic lessons and how to spot propaganda. He wanted us to actually think.
He used two front covers of Time as an example of wordless propaganda. The one with Jimmy Hoffa in it had dark background with Jimmy looking evil. I can’t remember who the “good guy” example was, but he looked like he was about to be taken up into heaven. He was looking up like he was listening directly to God.
It made an impression.
