Thats the 84-year-old MLB Hall of Famer on athletes turning their professional sports platform into a political loudspeaker. Aaron, when asked, said he wasnt so interested in visiting the White House either, if ever asked: Theres nobody there I want to see, he said at a ceremony for the Hank Aaron Champion for Justice Awards, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. President Trump uninvited the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles on the eve of their scheduled celebration at the White House earlier this month, citing the small contingent of players and team representatives that planned to attend. Trump has not hosted an NBA championship team to visit the White House since taking office, which some observers tie to outspoken comments by Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry and others.

While that's true and certainly today's medicine would have rendered his knees a totally different verdict, Mickey's biggest problem was his belief that he would end up like his father and die young so he didn't take care of himself. He admitted as much when he was dying from essentially self-inflicted liver cancer due to years of drinking and other abuse. But yes, what would he have done had his knees been sound his entire career.
That's what I say when I think of pro sports games. That's what I say when I think of movie theaters. (That's what I think of any of the organizations on the kill list in my tagline. Good to see most of them taking some good shots lately. SPLC is the latest.)
Hank Aaron bitched and complained so much that the Braves gave him some phony vice president job and he actually thinks he deserved it
For the record, I'm not connected with this site in any way, other than just being a Mick fan.
Unfortunately, I’m not surprised.
He always was an ungracious arrogant a-hole. If you follow his public statements for the last 40 some odd years, he always loves to play the victim. Its all about taking for this selfish loser. No giving back. Just all about what society owes him.

I think Hank Aaron was a great baseball player...
He is apparently still angry about racist treatment he got while still playing baseball...I would never tell Mr. Aaron to “get over it”...However, I still get tired of listening to his complaints...
I don’t think Mr. Aaron ever tried to avoid taking political positions...
Another great Braves player was Chipper Jones...He spoke in favor of banning “assault weapons” several months ago...
Neither Jones nor Aaron will have any impact on what I think...
I will not praise Lebron James just because Mr. Aaron thinks that it is OK to disrespect the president if the latter is a Republican...
Of all of them, Jesse Owens had the most class. And he was a staunch Republican.

I read somewhere that Owens was upset that FDR ignored him...
Another societal icon that succumbed to hate. Its heartbreaking.
Poor Hank....never made more than $100K/yr and now he’s very, very bitter.
He must have supported NHL star goalie Tim Thomas who refused to visit Obama’s White House.
It would be easy for me to hold a grudge against ‘Black America’, over racist blacks I’ve dealt with over my life time, but I don’t do that because it would be unfair. There’s nothing special about Hank Aaron’s racist experiences. We’ve all had them, whites like myself included. Hank Aaron’s experiences aren’t any worse just because he was a famous major league baseball player. If he can’t look beyond his race or his personal bad experiences and reach out to the larger non-black population in a spirit of good will, then I have no respect for him.
Well when you around Billy Martin to much, not less could be expected!
Hank Aaron has ALWAYS BEEN A CREEPY HATER.
I say ... f*** him.
I'm 72 and saw the whining jerkoff hit his BANJO "HOMERUNS" in Milwaukee for years.
Damn ............ let's be honest, the guy had a serious right to be pissed about how blacks were treated in baseball for years and years ... especially down in the minor leagues.
HOWEVER ... he was a banjo homerun hitter..... hitting 345 foot homeruns barely over a chain link fence in County Stadium........ what a DUMP!
If he were playing today he'd stink.
And he was ALWAYS a snarky jerk.
never
never... almost
