I too am not a fan but I was in Costa Rica when their team was playing in some international tournament. CR scored a goal and the whole neighborhood started cheering, car horns honking, it was like New Year’s Eve at midnight.

My best friend and bicycling buddy passed away in March. He was an avid soccer fan that would stay up hours into the night watching soccer.

Saw a bit of highlights last night on TV and said to my wife that Jeff would have been loving watching the World Cup. Then I realized, he either has a front row seat or he is playing the game with past soccer greats.
