For the first time in public history, Iranian officials admit to facilitating the 9/11 terrorist attacks by aiding Al Qaeda operatives traveling to the United States to carry out the attacks.
Mohammad-Javad Larijani, an international affairs assistant in the Iran’s judiciary, admitted in an interview broadcasted on Iranian state TV on May 30 that Iranian intelligence officials facilitated the terrorists’ travel to the U.S.
“Our government agreed not to stamp the passports of some of them because they were on transit flights for two hours, and they were resuming their flights without having their passports stamped. However their movements were under the complete supervision of the Iranian intelligence,” Larijani said, according to Al Arabiya.
Larijani added “that al-Qaeda members were in permanent contact with Iran’s intelligence ministry and that they used Iran in their flights to Afghanistan and other countries,” Al Arabiya reported.
Iranian officials did not stamp terrorists’ passports, Larijani said, in order to obscure the terrorists’ movements and confuse opposing foreign governments, like Saudi Arabia, which Larijani said would have prosecuted the terrorists for having an Iranian stamp in their passport book.

G.W. Bush repeatedly said that the war in Iraq was not because of 9/11. It was because they had violated their terms of surrender from Gulf War I. Namely, they were continuing to abuse their people, rebuilding their military, firing at our planes in the no-fly-zone, and hiding WMD’s. 9/11 was the reason we declared war on Afghanistan, however.

Still, I’ve been searching out analysis, “not stamping passports” is the key here. So, this does not seem like some great smoking gun where Iran directed 911.
The hijackers lived in Germany prior to coming to the US to flight school. They transited through Iran, and some of them didn’t have their passports stamped because KSA hates Iran.
Also, I think during the interview, he was reading from the US’ 9/11 report. More beating the drums of war, and rallying another mideastern war, aka, more dead and maimed American Servicemen.

The President in office now happens to be a New Yorker. The people who died, he considered to be New Yorkers. He has, let’s just say, a natural affinity for buildings, especially tall ones. Knowing what we know now about Donald J. Trump, he likely took it personally. I think we can say with certainty that 9-11-2001 represented a significant emotional event in his life.
Our President won’t “wipe them off the map”, because he understands the difference between the Iranian people and the despotic Ayatollahs who rule them. He will bide his time and not telegraph his move.
Whatever he does will have a decided retaliatory flavor, and it will involve the death of someone important within the regime. (or a number of them)
