President Trump has met with Kim Kardashian at White House to discuss "prison reform" in general and the case of a mother sent to prison on drug charges in particular.
It reminds me of a man Donald J. Trump met during the 2016 New Hampshire Primary campaign.
Marine Jerry DeLemus was co-chair of the New Hampshire Veterans Coalition for Trump.
After the primary US Marshals showed up at Jerry's home early one morning to haul him off to jail. DeLemus was accused for using his Second Amendment right to defend the First Amendment rights of the protesters at Bundy Ranch in April of 2014.
The Bundy's called for help because federal government snipers were aiming weapons at them and the protesters supporting them when the federal government seized the cattle at Bundy Ranch in Nevada.
When Jerry got to Nevada his court appointed lawyer there was open and shut case against him so there was a guilty plea he later tried to withdraw, but couldn't.
The judge gave him an 87 month sentence.
When the time for the trial of key defendants one of the key defendants, Ryan Bundy, acting as his own lawyer got a federal official to admit the existence of a surveillance camera not disclosed to the defense lawyers by the federal prosecutors. The judge forced out more exculpatory evidence that was hidden by the federal government including the use of snipers at the protest.
We ended up with a mistrial for the key defendants in the case because of the rigging of the evidence.
But Jerry DeLemus sits in a federal prison in Massachusetts right now in this case after his guilty plea and two other men are still jailed in the case after convictions by juries who were given rigged evidence as well (Greg Burleson and Todd Engel).
Mr. President, when do these men get "prison reform"?
When do these men get pardoned by you?
Link to Jerry DeLemus pardon story with picture of President Trump and Jerry together, along with his wife is below.......
There's a man in this country who helped elect him president sitting in the same lockup (Devens in Massachusetts) as Anthony Weiner who should at least out of prison pardoned if not meeting the POTUS at the White House after his release.
I guess we all have someone we think deserves Trump’s immediate attention and powers of “making it all better”....not like he doesn’t have enough on his plate...if we were as ready to do something substantial to help him via our own activism and activities, as we are to chastise him for not doing our will - millions of times - then he might have more time to contemplate all our side issues....
I have several someones. Thousands of VET’s during and after Vietnam were given bad paper due to drugs. Many of these were decorated combat VET’s who didn’t pass a piss test or caught in possession of marijuana. During that same period the military was drug infested as was Vietnam. Throw young kid’s into that environment and then give them a lifetime punishment for falling victim to it. These people are still being punished.
The man I headlined in this story actually helped to elect Donald J. Trump just like Joe Arpaio did in Arizona?
And what did Joe Arpaio get? A pardon.
Is “injustice” the same as “prison reform”?
There is a lot of injustice in the world and we would all like to see the right thing done for good people who have suffered injustice.
But why are you associating this with “prison reform”? I don’t get it.
Kim Kardashian brought up the case of someone imprisoned on a drug charge for the POTUS’s consideration.
I think its appropriate to bring up the case I posted about and the need for something to be done for those three men imprisoned including one who helped President Trump win the New Hampshire.
If the woman’s case that KK brings up is important, then so is the one I present IMHO.
I hate to say it but it reminds me Amy Carter.
Meeting a fluff-with-a-cause like Kardashian. Was a bad mistake. You are accepting that such a person is at “advisor” level. The woman gas NO CREDIBILITY.
Not to say many didn't get/aren't still getting raw deals but how many should Trump take a personal interest in? He remains busy and "in a perfect world....", but none of us ever gets everythig we want...
That said, if you believe you have a valid case/cause, use available avenues to try to bring it to the President's attention - maybe "one starfish" will get placed back in it's environment and feel the difference....
I got out in 72 and was lucky I din’t fall into the trap. When I went to Vietnam it was pretty easy to see what was fixing to happen, it was either drugs or alcohol. Both managed to make it to our Firebase on a regular bases. FB Bastogne sits in the Ashau about 22 k from Hue and still had a stream of drugs going in and out. Drugs and alcohol were in heavy use throughout Vietnam but mostly ignored. As long as they’d fight they were left alone. When they got back state side or at non combat duty stations was where the problems started. Fort Campbell wasn’t to bad but many decided to finish their tours in Germany and it was as bad or worse than Vietnam.
“”Not to say many didn’t get/aren’t still getting raw deals but how many should Trump take a personal interest in? “”
All of them! These men are in their late 60’s and 70’s now and have done their time. They went over there and did the job they were told to do and did it well. Many of the charges they got bad paper for are not even illegal in the US anymore, hell most are nothing buy misdemeanors now. With one signature he could end their punishment and restore honor. 50 years is long enough!!
I suppose if someone did the footwork to identify them, perhaps Trump could do a mass pardon - ironic that it would piss off all the libs who think that drugs should be legal.....might also be a few who actually deserve what they got/get among the crowd - let’s face it, after 24 yeas AD and 15 years as a Dod Civilian working with military, i know there are a number of bad apples in any crowd..
Wouldn’t be that hard to do everything is on record. Pardon all drug related offenses for those who serve during the Vietnam War. Any that predate April 30th 1975. There was about 3 million who served in country during the time of Vietnam with less than a million of us left (850,000). I got out in 72 and turn 68 this November, I was some of the last ones sent there, most are in their 70’s.
Exactly my point - some want Trump to address/pardon every Vet ever done wrong and have no concept of what something like that would take - hence my advice to the person to maybe offer to do the actual groundwork and not think it’s OK to nickle and dime Trump to death as he tries to do our business.
