You may be right, the stories i had read talked about some closings and restructuring, as that was what was initially reported. But then i saw this:

Looks like they are totaly liquidating everything. No stores remaining open.

They brought it on themselves, they were not competitively pricing, probably because they foolishly believed they had built customer loyalty. They actually did have customer loyalty once, which is why they lasted as long as they did, but they flushed it away with employees that had crappy attitudes who believed that they and what they wanted was more important than the customer and store managers didn't give a crap either.

The last time the wife and I went was Christmas five years ago, the aisles were blocked with crap, employees too busy holding conversations to assist and they played crappy hip hop music really loud.........AT CHRISTMAS! Toys R Us went out of their way to self destruct and I will not miss them.
