Also, Bill Clinton said c**** sucking was not having sex and I believe that encouraged kids to go that route.

The end of price controls makes it profitable to develop new antibiotics.Pharmaceuticals are profit centered businesses, not non-profit charities. If there is no profit potential in developing new antibiotics then new antibiotics will not be developed. limited term patent protection guarantees that new potions will be developed because the high protected prices will pay for the r&d and garner profit. When the patent period ends anyone can make the drugs and the market price rapidly falls toward the level of cost of production. all the tears are for those sick who cannot afford the drug during patent. with price controls the drug would never be developed in the first place. Those victims of the high prices are in the same boat as they would be in were the drug never developed at all. It is, of course, NOT FAIR! but how fair is it to the rest oh humanity that those who cannot benefit under any circumstances prevent future victims from getting the treatment? Because only the elite can afford a cure for a period of time then the less affluent should be denied it forever??? Progress must be halted in all fields if everyone at all cannot personally benefit immediately!

All of the drug research in the world is aimed at America because only in America can development costs be recovered. That forces patent period prices into the stratosphere for Americans even as Brits and Xhosas get the drugs at generic prices.

Once America goes to Single Payer antibiotics will fade as disease fighting tools because no government system will or can afford the development costs. Medicine will retreat to turn-of-the-century, that's turn of the last century. You get sick, you die..

The more widely antibiotics are used the less effective they become.

I first heard of it at least 15 years ago, it was confined to a small region around the east coast at the time, seems to be spreading very slowly now.
