Very cool to know.

Would make sense I guess because of WWII, I’m assuming.

Embarrassed having been to Italy and Sicily and not noticing any or being told that.

Yeah, WW2 probably responsible for most it, though multiple Italian towns have streets named Via Abraham Lincoln. There’s also a Via Teodoro Roosevelt in Messina. It’s pretty clear that, at one time at least, there was quite a bit of admiration of America among the political establishment in Italy, (West) Germany and even France.
