I give Rand Paul a pass on this one. Keep in mind he voted to let it out of committee so the full US Senate could make the decision.

So he gets to pander to some fraction of his base, without actually torpedoing the nomination. I find that kind of political gamesmanship annoying.

He had to. The full floor would have voted on it anyway and he would have looked like the backstabber he is. I’m completely over it.
