I am considering donating my car to a charity. The internet is full of charities that want the car but there is very little on the money management "internals" that say how the money is distributed. The BBB says some give as little as 4% up to 44% but usually they don't name names at either end of the spectrum.
Any Freepers out there with recommendations and positive experiences? My preference would be to donate to Disabled Veterans, Veterans or animal welfare organizations in that order.
My recommendation would be to choose a person or organization that is local and not affiliated with a national organization.
I’ve donated to Purple Heart. Had no hassles.
Any organization, no matter how well run, is going to have quite a bit of overhead.
There’s absolutely nothing to say you cannot find a local military veteran or elderly individual and simply sign the title over.
Make sure you file your release of liability with DMV.
Salvation Army.
DesertRhino’s home for wayward women...
Relative in need, sell it for $1.00 to avoid taxes, gets them a new title, and no hassle for you. There is a form from the DMV for it. Done this several times.
Sounds like your boat had a lot of adventures!
