Ruger LCR in .38+P is a very good CCW platform. Yeah, it’s five rounds, but a speed strip (that holds six rounds) is a very handy companion.

I’ve carried a Ruger LCR too and it is an excellent personal carry option.

Almost 40 years ago a friend, who was also a reserve officer, showed me that a short barrel revolver is actually easier to conceal than an autoloader. The cylinder may be thicker, but the overall shape of the weapon makes the whole thing much less likely to print.

Ruger LCRX here. Why? Because I don’t want to give my pinned and recessed S&W Mod. 49 Bodyguard to some cop as a souvenir.

I feel comfortable carrying a Jframe S&W model 642 or a model 36. If you want an extra round look for a Colt Detective Special, they hold six rounds but they won’t be cheap with it being a Colt.
