The problem is the Chinese are in high gear.
I really don’t see Russia as a threat, but China is a huge one, especially given the fact we’re in debt to them for trillions and they are busily buying up strategic properties and ports around the world.
China doesn’t waste any of its energy worrying about gay rights in the military or breastfeeding. They are simply training their soldiers to beat the crap out of us.

And the Chinese have to buy their way in. Whereas plenty of countries just invite our troops in. Because nobody, but nobody, trusts China enough to host their troops. We have no designs on anyone’s territory. China is a whole nother story.
The real worry is China’s fairly large military expenditures and the raft of new military equipment that has followed decades of increased spending. Its capabilities are catching up to its ambitions.
You would not know that China is actually the biggest threat to us by the way that Russia is currently being portrayed.
Don’t forget China’s 2 (used to be 1) child policy and if it is a girl, gone. They have too, too, many men and their culture has not decimated men into thinking they are worse than women.
