For all those who are steamed up over the strike in Syria, just remember HHS loses that much money in accounting errors every month.

As for their actual impact, 105 cruise missiles are no more a deterrent for Assad, nor provocation for Russia, than the 59 cruise missiles last year.
It's apparent Russia turned off their S400 systems and let the US have a fireworks display.
Nobody believes it changes anything in Syria. Or the calculus employed in Iran or Norklandia.

Without regard to the effectiveness of the S400, the entire world got a read of how willing Russia is to engage US forces directly, even after weeks of threats and bluster. And with modern assets onsite with a treaty partner.

Likely that defense system is designed to take out SCUDs not tomahawks. There is no way they shot down 70 out of 105 missiles. They maybe got lucky on a handful.
