Syria Update: UN Security Council Vote, Then The Military Option

Later today the UN Security Council is expected to vote on a resolution that Russia will cast a "NO' vote on setting the state for military action.

President Trump told reporters at the White House last evening that the United States was getting "good clarity" on who was responsible for what happened in Syria last Saturday.

Trump spoke of "Syria, Russia and Iran" in connection with the incident.

In February Trump spoke at a news conference with the then visiting Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.

"what Russia and what Iran and what Syria have done recently is a humanitarian disgrace. I will tell you that. We're there for one reason, we're there to get rid of ISIS and go home. We're not there for any other reason and we've largely accomplished our goal. But what those three countries have done to people over the last short period of time is a disgrace....."

While President Trump has repeatedly denied any other purpose for the United States to be in Syria, any decision to act militarily would point to what Peter Hitchens has posted on his blog in the last 24 hours about the situation.

"Two major powers, Saudi Arabia and Iran, are irreconcilably hostile to each other. One of them by aggressive diplomacy in proxy states, has created a state of grave tension between them which, if it goes much further, threatens to draw the great powers into open conflict. A single incident, by providing the basis for aggressive diplomacy, unacceptable demands and perhaps actual warlike violence, could trigger that war. If so, it will not be confined to the Middle East, because of the involvement of Russia in the dispute. Indeed, it may be Russia's involvement in Syria, where it has frustrated Saudi Arabian designs and those of Saudi Arabia's allies, such as the USA, this country and France, which triggered the considerable increase in tension in Ukraine....."

President Trump visited Saudi Arabia last year, performing the "sword dance" with its leaders and receiving promises of Saudi investment in the United States and Saudi purchases of American weapons.

The Saudi Crown Prince met President Trump at the White House recently and toured the United States making financial deals along the way.

The United States relationship with Saudi Arabia goes back to 1945 and regardless of Saudi associated terrorist activities that culminated in the 9/11 attacks and the Saudi use of jihadist fighters in Syria to acheive its aim of overthrowing the Assaad regime, the close US-Saudi relationship is firm and solid and very much much behind any decision that President Trump is about to make and the consequences of that decision.

The Israeli propaganda-disinformation website "DEBKAfile" published a report today pointing to a long military campaign involving the US,UK,France and Arab countries aimed at driving Iran out of Syria.

President Trump spoke of the "best fighting force in the world" as he talked to reporters last night at the White House evoking memories of General George S. Patton speaking to soldiers training to go into battle during World War II.

They know it is BS. Someone has played them well. This is not typical Trump behavior. This is up against a wall and must do this for some reason behavior. The countries that benefit from our staying are Israel and Saudis.

Which really, historically, looks like a good start to the next world war. Russia keeps saying they will respond with military action. Any of our troops killed means our leadership is to blame. Meanwhile the Dems and MSM are loving Trump right now.

” Russian military controls the “crime” scene and the absence of any chemical weapon traces speaks for itself. “

LOL...yeah, we can trust the Russians. You know...the same guys who illegally annexted Crimea and attempted to start a civil war in Ukraine. Sure...we can trust the Russians.

lmao

“Don’t believe the Red Crescent? Then let’s have a serious investigation where there is no lock down. Russia is willing.”

Because Assad and his Russian protectors won’t allow an investigative team or humanitarian team inside the kill zone.

Try to keep up. We are the good guys and Assad and the Russkies are the bad guys.

So don't trust them...send your best chemical weapons team in to investigate.

Unlike Salisbury, an open invitation to international inspectors has been extended.

They didn’t let them in the first time and we sneaked a ground sample out.

...positive for chlorine gas.

For like the 3rd time, I believe.

We have HUMINT on the ground, but the word getting out is that they already have confirmation of chlorine gas and Syrans doing the deed.

Give it two days.

Lol...it's been 40 days and nothing.

Your sources must have taken the bus out of Douma along with the other terrorists.

Meanwhile there are hours of independent video interviews with local residents in Douma, including medical staff at the hospital who all catigorically state that NO attack took place.

Someone should tell your pals Heather and Nikki...

Your taste for Putin’s boots continues.

Syria has already been proven by said OPCW group to have used chem weapons 4 times...and Sarin, once. Why would this be any different?

“..experts from the UN and the OPCW have ascribed four chemical attacks to the government during the civil war.

These include an attack on the rebel-held town of Khan Sheikhoun just over a year ago that involved the nerve agent Sarin. More than 80 people are said to have died in that attack.”

Typical State Dept. disinformation...OPCW according to it's own charter never assigns blame to these incidents, only reports findings.

And quoting British government propaganda to support your own lies is just par for the course.

Here's a suggestion...go be a deep state fag somewhere else .

As usual - you are incorrect again.

“An impasse developed at the UN last year between Russia and the west over chemical weapons, with Moscow repeatedly vetoing the renewal of a mandate for the UN body charged with attributing responsibility for their use...

...As a result, since last November no internationally recognised body has existed empowered to identify a group or country that has used chemical weapons.”

...only since last November - and due to Russia not liking the previous reports assigning blame to Syria, it bossom buddy muslima friends.

Russia deserves each Beslan they get for conspiring with these jihadi tools.

oh, you need to go and get to you jack boot Russian licking.... buh bye.

Yeah, the Russians weren’t going to let the West fabricate evidence like they did the last time during the Khan Shaykhun investigation. Good on them for calling the US out on their bullshit at the UN. You and State Dept. Barbie might not approve, but who cares since you’re both certified liars.

We’ve also seen how the British government lied multiple times in the Skripal case, so there’s no reason to believe anything the West says anymore when it comes to chemical weapons.

The Douma report from OPCW (when it comes out) will just be icing on the cake, as that attempt at a false flag was as lame and predictable as the weather. Too bad for you the Russians secured the area, forcing your Al Qaeda buddies in the ‘white helmets” to flee the scene.

Too bad they didn’t save you a seat on the bus..

Sop the Vlad off your chin, turn the RT up louder.

Your sanity will be fine if you keep deluding yourself.
