Author and philosopher Nassim Nicholas Taleb offers a definitive solution for how to gain from disorder and chaos, while being protected from fragilities and adverse events. Taleb argues that many things in life benefit from stress, disorder, volatility, and turmoil. What he calls the antifragile is actually beyond the robust, because it benefits from shocks, uncertainty, and stressors, just as human bones get stronger when subjected to stress and tension. The antifragile needs disorder in order to survive and flourish

One of the great thinkers of our time. Maybe the greatest.
I’m reading the book now. I checked it out from my local library as a e-Book. I’m about halfway through. It’s a good read.
so ‘Resistance’ and their kin ‘AntiFa’ are serving a useful purpose in making the coming reaction stronger?
That, is an extremely interesting question!
His insights are fascinating.
Personally I’d like to hear Taleb & Jordan Peterson spend 3 hours talking together.
Very Good!
—his personal website has a wealth of free material as well.
What People Are Not Getting about Trump. An interview of Nassim Nicholas Taleb by Bloomberg TV at the SALT Conference. Taleb explains what people aren't getting about Pres. Trump. Discusses tail hedging and the current risks in the environment.
Thanks for bringing that one up.
Pivoting: I highly recommend any of Taleb’s longer-form presentations and Q & A sessions. There is a bit of video of him on YouTube.
The one insight where Nasim Taleb explains that Trump has never had a supervisor... a boss... is worth watching the whole video for... So much first rate thinking into such a short video. And that in spite of the interviewer doing NOTHING except trying to put him in a simple little box.
I’m shamed that I haven’t run across this guy before...
He’s popularly known for the book “Black Swan,” although that’s his least favorite book.
He was an Option’s Trader for 20 years, then he went back and earned his PhD in mathematics/statistic’s (IIRC). His specialty is broadly, “quantifying risk,” and he’s very good at explaining what that all means in real life.
-He does generally support Trump, dislikes socialism, a pro freer-marketer, well versed in the Classic’s, etc., but he’s not overly political per se.
He has an excellent list Aphorism’s he’s collected throughout the years—I believe he has a link at his website for a free PDF. I highly suspect you would enjoy them.
Amen to that...
(Make that 6 hours!)

LOL - pure gold. Thanks for the links. I'm half way through Petersons 12 Rules for Life - downloaded it on my Kindle and keep getting distracted by downloading and reading source material he's quoting. Who would of thought The Rape of Nanking would be that interesting. Had no idea there was an album - I'll check that out too. Thanks again.

...
Huh? Trump has been married three times.
LOL - good one.
